MAX MAXWELL
"I'm entering the coffee business," said Max Maxwell as we conversed over the net after a tennis lesson. "I'm calling myself the Coffee Man and I'm delivering the freshest roasted gourmet coffee in town unlike others who roast their coffee and store it for months before it gets to you. I roast our product every week from green coffee beans to insure the best quality."
Maxwell traveled to Costa Rica and Colombia visiting coffee plantations.
"It was an entertaining and educational experience," explained Maxwell whose entrepreneurial spirit has inspired a number of successful if short-lived ventures from selling Christmas trees to marketing blog sites. "There is nothing that compares to picking a bean off a bush and savoring the taste. I'm guaranteeing authenticity in this endeavor."
Maxwell's special blends include Colombian Supremo. Costa Rican Real, Guatemala Antigua, Hawaiian Kona, Jamaican Blue Mountain, Kenya AA Plus, Mountain Vera Cruz and Sumatra Mandheling.
"A lot of people ask me about the purpose of a whole bean coffee," continued Maxwell who captured the Matamoros Open without losing a set. "As soon as ground coffee is exposed to air, it will stay fresh for no more than 12 hours. It actually loses a great deal of flavor within minutes. I suggest that you buy the whole bean and only grind enough to brew and drink at any given time.
Maxwell is departing for Africa soon.
"I'm spending a week on the dark continent," he nodded. "I hope to shoot a lion while meeting with my Kenyan associates."
