DR. POLYPHEMOUS PANGLOSS
Last year I spent one month in Africa working for a charitable organization in Mozambique. I'm disappointed to report that medical care is worse here than there. The ignorance is alarming.
Doctors are performing unnecessary operations because their victims have health insurance. Brownsville physicians are famous throughout the country for defrauding the government. Materialism is their guiding light. Unfortunately, the bigger houses and bigger cars only inspire bigger dreams of wealth.
The Brownsville Herald has given the medical community a free ride because the hospitals and the doctors are the newspaper's biggest advertisers. I have seen too many grieving relatives as they laid their family remembers to rest. Like a ghost who cannot rest, I have returned to haunt these assassins. It is easier to enter a hospital than to depart one.
I am asking The McHale Report's readership to submit their tales of woe. What doctor killed your son? How much did he charge for the murder? A football coach fails on Friday night and his incompetence is detailed in the Saturday edition. A doctor leaves a dead girl on the operating table and nothing is said. The time has come to put our priorities into the proper perspective.
